The Myddleton tea stalk extractor is a common machine in all types of tea manufacture. It is used widely in almost all tea growing areas as an initial sorting machine. It performs the operations of grading and making tea free of stalks.
There are two trays in the Myddleton, the top and bottom trays. The top tray is 9' x 4' and the bottom tray is 8'5 inch x 3'10 inch. The trays are made of thick aluminum sheet, with lines of small bosses, each with a perforation at the top. The trays are easily removable and sieves of different specifications can be fitted into the frames to suit the tea being treated. One of the Myddleton's two sieves is normally has 3/16 inch perforations and 1/8 inch high bosses. Two additional trays are also available; one with 7/32 inch perforations and 1/8 inch high bosses, and the other with 17/64 inch perforations and 1/8inch high bosses.
There is a 10 inch pulley with a 3 inch face, suitable for a 2.5 inch drive. This can be attached directly to a motor.
The crankshaft imparts reciprocating motion to the machine via connecting rods. The crankshaft is made of very strong steel bars.
An oscillating motion is imparted to the sieves with the help of a crankshaft, which revolves at 200rpm. Leaf is fed to the Myddleton machine at spread thicknesses of approximately 1.3 to 1.9 inches. The tea being sorted in the Myddleton moves down a slopped tray between the bosses. This imparts a slight disturbance to the mass and causes the leaf to hop through the perforations. The stalk and fibre slide over the bosses pass over the end of the tray, and is thus separated.
The Myddleton can also be used for grading by treating fine and coarse teas separately. The following arrangement of trays would then the required.

Arnott Sorter is used to Segregate Various size of stalk free orthodox tea with the help of vibratory wire mesh system. Vibratory motion of the system is communicated to different wire meshed trays through a double acting Crank arrangement and motor.
Stalk free Tea is fed to top Deck from an adjustable feed hopper and over sized tea particles move over the top of the wire mesh tray upto the collecting chute and smaller size particles pass on to next wire mesh tray for similar operation till all the tea particles traverse up to the last deck one after another.
• Machine is supported on a heavy and sturdy MS structure
• Double acting crank shaft is mounted on heavy MS frame with robust bearing housing. pulley and fly wheel, suitable for motor drive.
• Connecting Rod is fitted with heavy duty bearing in one side and Anulon bush on other side for smooth & noise free operation.
• All wooden frame are made of high quality seasoned wood.
• wire mesh are made of high grade stainless steel of perfect hole size.
• wire mesh tensioning system to facilitate smooth flow of tea particle.
• Provided, facility to change inclination of Deck to control grade percentage upto certain level.

(A) For CTC It is Vertically Vibrating machine used as withered leaf feeder to Supervane / Rotorvane. Vibrating action of the Machine breaks the lump of withered and feed the leaf evenly to Supervane /Rotorvane. It also cleans withered leaf from foreign particles and dust through sieving operation.
(B) For Orthodox It is also used after rolling table to extract 1st fine and 2nd fine from rolled tea during orhtodox manufaturing by using a perforated tray of specific hole size.
This is a hanging tray vertically vibrating machine. Four rigid arm of the machine hold the tray for vibrating action and vibrating action pass on to the tray through connecting rods and eccenric action.
For CTC
Withered leaf is fed to a specialty designed hopper mainly to receive even feed rate of withered leaf to Rotorvane / Supervane in case of CTC operation
For Orthodox
The same machine also used to take out specific sized tender leaf during Orthodox tea manufacturing with the use of preforamet tray.

• Single deck with 5 stainless steel meshes
• Meshes available as per your requirement
• Easily changeable meshes to adjust to your seasonal needs
• Eliminates the falling and rubbing effect due to the tea having far less mileage to travel
• Noiseless and steady operation
• Minimum foundation work required as the machine has inbuilt chassis
• One machine may sort about 400 kgs for smaller factories
• The full conveyor integrated system incorporating fibre extractors, hoppers and java tunnels are recommended for larger factorie

This machine is an integral of the modern tea sorting room. When rough tea is fed to the Andrew Breaker (fitted with longitudinal fluted rollers) through a conveyor system, it is compressed between the rollers rotating at 60 rpm. The amount of tea broken depends on the degree of pressure applied and the speed at which it is applied. Care must be exercised here to optimise the speed at which pressure is applied; that way there is no damage to the natural bloom of the made tea.
After extracting all normal, worthwhile grades from the bulk, stalky coarse residue can be fed to the Andrew Breaker fitted with corrugated rollers. In these rollers, the flutes run around the periphery of the rollers. These rollers cause a rubbing action that removes the skin from stalk and tends to disintegrate the tough and flaky particles that previously escaped breakage. The speed of the rollers here is maintained at 180 rpm.

TMI Pucca Tea Sorter is vertical vibrating machine suitable for both CTC and Orthodox Tea application. The Sifter consists of 6 decks, suspended on four rigid arms. The arms impart the vibrating action to the decks with the help of connecting rods. The eccentric movement is the result of the coupled action of the weighted drum pulley and crank shaft. Teas travel in a series of hops, thus bloom is saved. Tray design allows easy inter changing and incorporation of different mesh sizes as per clients requirement.
• Pedestal – Made of Heat resistant Castings, capable of withstanding high load factor.
• Drum Pulley – Dynamically balanced cast iron weighted drum pulley provides the eccentric movement to the machine.
• Bearing Housing – Completely enclosed bearing housing to prevent any seepage of dust and foreign particles.
• Tray Decks – Constructed from MS or Wood as per clients requirement. It consists of an outer frame, fitted with an SS wire mesh. Incorporates tension adjustment system and simple locking arrangement. All decks have rubber balls fitted in the bottom to prevent mesh clogging.
• Crank Shaft – Alloy steel shaft machined to precise specifications. The crank shaft imparts the eccentric movement to the machine. Power is transmitted to the shaft by a 1HP motor.

TMI Googhie Shifter is a continuous rotating drum lined with SS wire mesh of different sizes used for separation and sorting of Tea. The drum rotates on heavy duty pipe rings on rubber rolls and is inclined at an appropriate angle to facilitate movement of Tea. The speed of rotation can be varied from 24- 30 rpm, such that the tea can pass through the various meshes adequately. Suitable for use in improving the roundness of CTC-cut particles normally with a blank googhie and perforated googhie for sifting sized particles in Orthodox Tea Manufacture. Two types are available
a. With central shaft rotating on Bearings on Pedestals grouted on floor and holding the Stainless steel or Aluminium cylinder on spokes from the Central shaft
b. Portable shaftless with fabricated outer rings holding the Stainless steel or Aluminium cylinder rotating on rubberised grooved wheels on a Skid. Only one of the wheels is driven by Motor
Both these varieties are available with blank or perforated cylinders of 6' or 8' diameter and of different lengths (8, 10, 12, 14 ft etc).
• Rotating Drum – Consists of a cylinder constructed from SS wire mesh fitted into a heavy duty angular frame.
• Pipe Ring – Shaftless design with outer heavy duty pipe ring. The rotation is imparted to the drum by rubberized grooved wheels.
